For anyone who isn’t sure, clemency is where we are asking the system to have mercy on his sentence, which is life in prison with the chance of parole. Clemency is not the appeal process where we would ask them to reopen the case. Our purpose here is to ask for mercy and try to get a lighter sentence.

We need EVERYONES help with the clemency process. I need to start collecting character letters for Clemency for Derrick. I’m including an outline for that letter. When you write one, sign it, and mail it to:

Katherine Miller

PO Box 475

Burkittsville, MD 21718

Or email me your letter (signed) as an attachment to: freederrickmiller@aol.com

Family, Servicemen, Friends, Acquaintances…EVERYONE can write a letter if you feel mercy is needed and this sentence to life in prison is to harsh.

I beg you that you will help. I’m hoping to get at least 100 letters. If you have any questions, send me a message. Send this message along to others that I may not have on here.

Thank you for helping. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for your help.

Love, Katherine

___________________________________

Outline for a Clemency letter

DATE

From: Name

Address

City, State Zip

(123) 456-7890

To: President, Army Clemency and Parole Board

1. In the first paragraph you will introduce yourself.Include your full name, age, and occupation. Also include your relation if any to Derrick. You don’t have to know Derrick. Hearing of his case can be enough knowledge of him.

2. In the second paragraph state that you know what the charges are and name them and also where the person is serving their time. (Derrick was charged with premeditated murder and is serving his sentence in Ft Leavenworth, KS. His sentence is life in prison with the chance of parole)

3. (THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PARAGRAPH) Speak from your heart. In the 3rd paragraph talk about how Derrick has the potential to succeed if released and will again become an asset to society. State that you know this situation has inspired changes in his life and how you notice it. Use examples if you have corresponded with Derrick. Talk about how he isn’t a threat and it would be beneficial to his family to have him released.

5. This is the last paragraph. All you have to do is close out the letter and tell the board that if they desire to contact you, your number is in the header of this letter.

Respectfully Submitted,

___________________________

type and sign your name

____________________________

We need everyones help. Please don’t put this aside.

Thank you!

We need Job Offers

Updates
<guid
